pilot creek falls
yesterday neil and i took audrey on a hike guided by cousin johnny to pilot creek falls. destination: natural water slides. the hike was 5.6 miles round trip, nothing too long, but it got pretty steep at parts...johnny and neil were anti-rest so i had to keep hustling along. good thing i've been working out lately, i think it helped a bit. here are some pictures of our adventure...
neil and audrey hiking along.

reaching the falls you are at the top of them, very beautiful view.

a view looking up at the falls.

neil sliding down the third fall which gives you a little boost into the air.

proof that i got my little self up there and went down the slides.

this is what audrey did on the hike back.
thanks johnny for showing us where to go! i can't believe i didn't get a shot of you, sorry buddy!

So fun! I love cascading down natural slides. How cold was the water?
Gorgeous! I remember hiking with those little packs. Way to brave it Sher, I bet it was cold.
Sound fun! Where was this at?
Her stripy top-----SOOOOO cute!!!!
no worries, you can see me at the top on one of the photos, I was busy holding your darling baby Audrey, what a well-behaved baby! Didn't cry once during the +/- 5 hour trip!
Those pictures are great!! Daddy Daughter time. So cute. I cannot believe that he went off those falls! Brave guy.
it was extremely cold. cold where you can't breath for like 5 seconds cold. but it was worth it.
pilot creek falls is in between auburn and placerville just outside the town of georgetown off highway 49 i believe. there are no signs so you have to go with someone who's been there before or you'll probably never find it.
johnny you're coming to make me paella on thursday right? i'll make sure to get a cute pic of you and audrey :)
Looks like a super fun trip (now you guys are going to have to take us there!) I'm pretty sure I went there as a kid. I have some pictures of me around 10 looking a lot like the picture of you!
wow- i've never heard of that place. will have to try that out sometime :)
fun!!! :)
What a fun day! Your camera is great...bright, beautiful pictures!
My brother is a great tour guide! He said he had a lot of fun with you guys! Maybe he will take me there some day!
We went to some rock slides in Sedona last week, but ours were teeny tiny compared to your pics! Arizona creek water was freezing cold, too. My butt was numb. I'd do it again, though.
